Sneak Peek: Romana's "Gypsy" Aprons

  
My girlfriend Cenia showed up at a crop recently wearing a sassy apron that everyone oohed & aahed over.  She bragged that her mom, Romana, made it for her using scraps from her kids' nursery bedding.  Immediately, I knew that I had to have one.  And then I realized that everyone around me wanted one as well.

Well, Romana has spent her summer making gorgeous "gypsy" aprons for my "Summer in Paris" Flea Market.  Each handmade apron features gussetted pockets in the front (perfect for holding your adhesive, Japanese screw punch & whatever other tools you're always trying to find on your workspace), fanciful trims and re-inforced stitching.  I love the extra long ties that allow you to wrap them all the way around your waist and tie in front.  The mismatched apron strings make it that much cuter!

Additionally, Romana has added a loop on the side that will allow you to tie her coordinating hand towels to your apron.  Each coordinating hand towel features patterned felt on one side (perfect for removing remnants from your stamps) and plush terrycloth on the other side (perfect for getting glitter off of your hands).

Each "Gypsy" apron retails for $35.00 and the coordinating towels are $5.00/each or 2 for $7.00.  "Summer in Paris" attendees will get to snap up the first batch, but I'll be adding more to my Etsy shop in the future. 

Sneak Peek: Scrabble Tile Bracelet Kits

 
I've been busy ordering fantastic new products and putting together kits for my "Summer in Paris" Flea Market.  This week I've put together five new styles of scrabble tile bracelet kits (in addition to my "Adventures in Wonderland" kit) -- Vintage pin-up girls, Mary Poppins, Wizard of Oz, Nancy Drew and Vintage cowgirl pin-ups (pictured above).

Each kit comes complete with all of the beads, charms, scrabble tiles, jump rings, bracelet base, bracelet toggle closure, pins and beautiful images.  It also includes a full instruction booklet for those who weren't able to take the "Adventures in Wonderland" class.

They will be available as soon as the Flea Market opens at 2 p.m. on August 27th.  Get them while they last!

Get the most out of Close to My Heart's latest (and arguably cutest) paper kit, Cherry-O, in this workshop. You'll use CTMH's How-To Book as your guide to create (2) two-page layouts.  You'll distress your projects using ink, add embellishments to your pages and learn how to add even more pictures to your pages using CTMH's Flip Flaps.  Students will go home with paper and embellishments to create even more on their own.

Each class kit includes CTMH's Cherry-O Level 2 Paper Pack, Cherry-O MyStickease, and Tulip Mini Medley Embellishments.

Students must bring:  Paper Trimmer, Adhesive, Brown Distressing Ink, Sponge Dauber and Foam Tape (or Foam Squares).

Meet the Teacher: Melissa Laverty

I'm thrilled to announce the addition of one more teacher to our stellar 2010 "Summer in Paris" line-up -- Melissa Laverty!

Melissa Laverty, known to her students & blog readers as fancyMelissa, has been teaching papercrafting all over the Blue Ridge Region since 2006.  As a Director with Close to My Heart Scrapbooking & Stamping she enjoys the fellowship that comes from women coming together to create and share their stories.  Because of her artistic skills & fun, relaxed teaching style, she has been selected by CTMH to teach at their National Convention this summer. 

With a nickname like fancyMelissa, it is hard to believe that she's never been to Paris.  But she did spend 5 years drinking wine and falling in love in San Francisco, and counts it and Charleston as her favorite cities.

Melissa looks forward to teaching her "Sweet Scrapbook Workshop" -- a scrapbooking class using the cutest CTMH paper kit I've ever seen!
